HRSclocks clock repair workshop

At the repair and restoration workshop the most delicate of repair work and restoration to Antique Clocks, Barometers, Barographs and Musical Boxes is undertaken. This is where all the engineering and wheel cutting is undertaken.

All work is undertaken on site including dial re-silvering / dial restoration. Only painted dials are contracted out using a renowned and trusted painted dial restorer. Missing or broken parts are made and styled to the original clock or item being worked on using materials i.e. steel and brass that best suits the age of the item. Therefore we do not stock spare parts as each item, whether it be for a Clock, Barometer / Barograph or Musical Box, is bespoke made.

Repairs and Restoration to quality Antiques can take some time as the article is going through the process of cleaning, repair and careful rebuild. Please be patient! See the links above We use a high quality, very thin Jewellery lacquer for the polished visible parts including back plates / pendulum etc. This is a long lasting, hard, clear lacquer in a two part mix. It is not brushed on or sprayed from an Aerosol

Our work is received mainly from the local area of Gr. Manchester ,Cheshire and Derbyshire, but in a lot of instances we will not require the clock case weights or pendulum, only the movement  e.g. a Grandfather / Long case clock. The movement can be sent by arranging with a insured courier  service or, if feasible, you can deliver and collect the item yourself . We can accept work from anywhere in the U.K.
