 A Restored Longcase Clock

James Kenyon  was working c 1711 - 1759

Richard Kenyon  was working  c1735 - 1752

The clock is believed to be made by James

The clock has 7 Roman Gods painted within a triangular arch representing  the days in a week e.g. Mars Jupiter etc

Two subsidiary dials are cut into the chapter ring. The one at the top right is a 31 day month calendar driven from a lever.

The top left subsidiary dial is engraved 1 to 12  then 1 to 12 again and it takes 59 days for its hand to make one complete revolution

or two clock lunar phases    ( if anyone knows why it is engraved  1 to 12 twice the please e mail )

It is driven by a reduction screwed gear known as a worm gear as is the moon phase.

According to the owner the clock has spent some years on loan to the Prescot Museum Liverpool.
